The position of the convicts in Burreli prison was difficult. From their data and testimonies, also based on archival sources, which refer to treatment, living conditions, cases of illness, restriction of rights, use of violence and torture, etc., the cruelty inflicted on every individual considered an enemy stands out. In the absence of a complete treatment of this topic, I think it is important to summarize some of the aspects that create the profile of the communist state and the scheme of the strategy followed by it in the “hell” of Burrel.
