Abstract

Standard auditing and maintenance management of school facilities constitute two essential components for ensuring a safe, functional and suitable educational environment for all users – students, teaching staff and administration. These processes are essential for preserving school infrastructure, increasing its lifespan and ensuring optimal conditions for the development of educational activities. Energy audit is a systematic assessment process, through which existing facilities are analyzed in terms of energy consumption, in order to identify its current performance and recommend concrete measures to improve energy efficiency. This audit aims to reduce energy consumption, reduce operational costs, as well as improve internal conditions in terms of thermal comfort and indoor air quality. Through the audit, we aim for an accurate description of current energy consumption and the analysis of the factors that affect it; identification of equipment and systems that contribute most to energy consumption; proposal of energy efficiency measures; assessment of potential savings, analysis of costs and financial performance indicators; recommendations for interventions that, although not directly lead to energy savings, are necessary to guarantee the sustainability of investments and the optimal functioning of the facilities. Efficient maintenance management aims to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of school facilities through preventive maintenance planning and corrective interventions. A proactive approach to management helps prevent major damage, optimize operational costs and preserve the value of these public assets.
