WORD FORMATION IN THE SPEECH OF JAZHINCE

Abstract
This research explores word formation in the speech of Jazhince of the Albanian language, an underexplored topic up to now. With the assistance of villagers and family members, linguistic material was collected to investigate word formation in this region. Direct conversations were particularly valuable for the study. Despite similarities with other Tetovo area speeches , Jazhincе exhibits distinctive features in word formation. The paper provides a detailed analysis of these similarities and characteristics, focusing on examples that highlight the formation of words with prefixes, suffixes and compounds. The findings indicate that, similar to the broader Albanian language, suffix formation plays a prominent role in word formation in the speech of Jazhincе.
