Abstract
The aim of this paper is to highlight a part of the multifaceted work of Professor Rexhep Qosja, specifically his contributions as a historian of Albanian literature. A notable contribution of his in this field is the three-volume work The History of Albanian Literature – Romanticism. During the period when this invaluable work was published, namely in the 1980s, Albanians living in the former Yugoslav Federation lacked systematic works on the history of literature as well as broader analytical perspectives on the works of Renaissance literature.
The History of Albanian Literature – Romanticism, in addition to the breadth of its inclusion of authors, is also characterized by its innovative approach in placing Albanian Upheval Literature on a comparative plane with European literature and intellectual thought of the 19th century.
