REXHEP QOSJA AND ALBANIAN CULTURE

Agim VINCA

Abstract

The work of Professor Rexhep Qosja is extensive and diverse; his creative opus is impressive in quantity and of a high level in quality, among the largest and most qualitative in Albanian literature; of particular importance for Albanian literature and culture. A man of work and pen, who spends the vast majority of his day on books, notebooks, notes, files and manuscripts and on his typewriter; a man distinguished by strict discipline in life and work, academician Rexhep Qosja has written reviews, criticism, essays, treatises, studies and historical-literary monographs; has written stories and novels; dramas and monodramas; journalistic and polemical articles, but also books, with a social and political, literary, cultural and artistic character; has written and published, especially in recent years, diaries and memoirs; He has probably written who knows what else, which has not yet been published and which may be found tomorrow in his drawers at the Institute of Albanology or in his house in the Bregu i Diellit neighborhood in Prishtina, where he lives and creates. Because, a writer who does not leave something behind, as he often says, is not a writer!
