ODA (ROOM) FOR TRAVELERS TO THE ALBANIAN PEOPLE
Nazmi BEQIRI
Abstract
In our traditions while researching our cultural heritage of hospitality, I came across a special welcome for travelers. This reception in its interior embraces the humanity of our people towards travelers, creating a kind of beneficial goal for both parties: the traveler and the host. Apart from providing security to the two parties, knowledge, information, experiences, organizational and friendly connections were exchanged there, knowledge was enriched, etc. This reception was held in special rooms called oda sajbi. In this paper, in addition to a comparison with hospitality in the world, the character of the friend and the traveler is also clearly analyzed. Despite expectations, on the sociological and psychological side, this custom represents the highest level of intelligence and civilization of the society that created this custom with rules.
