Abstract
This article explains the case of the German Language in Switzerland as an ideal opportunity to understand the depth of Swiss German. Also, the articles briefs the different varieties of expression in Switzerland and their usage aside the official language in the german-speaking area of the country. It is the dialect of all social classes and it has plenty of varieties, which are divided throughout the cantons. Characteristics, which differentiate the dialect from the standard language, contain the sections of spelling, morphosyntax and vocabulary. Also, studies of linguists in Switzerland confirm that through migration and technology, the dialect is spreading rapidly in the society. It is growing so much that the sections, which are commonly use the German standard language like the Media, Public Affairs and Education, are beeing „Occupied“ by the dialect.
