Abstract
This subject is about the lexis of pomology, for that reason this lexis is rich and gives an abundancy of linguistic material, since the development of pomology as part of agriculture is quite rich. This paper treats the topic of loans in the lexis of pomology, including the direct etimology and ligustic aspect of some of the meanings in pomology. As a main drive to discuss this topic was the interest for loanwords and its etimology. in this case a particular group of words, which apart that they belong to a linguistic system they also function as terms of a specific terminological system – botany.
Also, of interest was for the influence and the relation of the Albanian language with other languages and vice versa, especially with the languages with which it has been in contact the most. Thus, when looking at the etimology, we come to a conclusion that the phenomenon of loanwords is also present in this group of words. Loanwords are well received in most cases and are often seen as a necessity in communication to the extent that they are used logically and for the benefit of communication and vocabulary of a language, however not abusing and not damaging a language by introducing foreign words out of place.
