MILAN JAZBECI, THIS INNOVATOR IN POETRY

Luljeta Adili-Çeliku, Meral Veseli

Abstract

In this study we have tried to present to the Albanian reader a concise overview of the poems of the Slovenian poet, Milan Jazbec. Perhaps the poet in question is known only as a diplomat for the fact that he was also the ambassador of his country in Northern Macedonia, but we also find him as a writer of novels and poems, whose works have been translated into Albanian. When we stopped and analyzed the poet's poems we saw that his poetry is very special both in form and content. We saw a verse, which is composed of only one word, a verse-lexeme, which has the power of an ordinary verse. This is something unprecedented so far in the waters of poetry and with this the poet brings an innovation, a model which can become a good example. As for the content of the poems, we have lyrical poems with a love theme. Love for the homeland, the girl and life. What characterizes these poems and which emerges as a common denominator is the dialogue that the poet develops. A dialogue, which takes place between him and what he lives and experiences. We have a dialogue between the narrator and his daughter, in which only the narrator speaks dialogue, but what is said implies that there is an answer, hence we call it dialogue. Conversation is found in all the poems of the poet; it happens even when he does not get an answer from the interlocutor. In the end we have seen the language of the poet in linguistic terms separating it from the literary one. This article is part of the foreword to the poet's work entitled “77 niansi nežosti” written for poems selected from the poet's trilogy.
