Abstract
In antiquity, the Athenians, and later the Romans, attached great importance to the education of children, both for the art of poetry and the art of oratory. This classical period that spans the last millennium BC, divided into four phases of time, developed children's literature, the most worthy representative of which can be said is Aesop, who wrote the first fables, for children which will later be accompanied by drawings, conform, to the narrative contained in the fable.
Of course, these fables had an educational character, first of all, but also stimulation the creativity, critical thinking, stimulation of imagination, development of emotional intelligence, and abstract thinking in children. Regarding German children's literature, the German writer Goethe says: “Write children's books in such a way that not only children but also adults can read them with pleasure.”
